Hi Hi
I'm new to revit arc and have a few quistions.
Here they come:
- Lets say i have a wall. But i want to put different sections of color on it (paint etc) How do i do this. Because when I assign a render texture it does it on both sides and the whole wall.
- Also where to I install or copy the .pat files I download for patterns etc.
- Ceiling how do I Install a bulk head curved type ceiling I cannot find a video or tutorial.
- When I curve my beams they curve to the side. How to I arch a beam to the top. Or am i using the wrong component.
I appreciate every feedback
Thank You

Welcome to Revit's World.
1. use the "Split Face" then use the "Paint" tool (use your HELP menu)
2. create a new folder if you want
3. You need to create a "Model In-Place" in the right category, in this case "Ceiling"
4. the same in number 3

Thanx a lot.
I'm going to bother you with one more quistion but I know there's still plenty to come.
I feel stupid to ask this but i can't find a tutorial.
When I create a family how to I assign parameters and colours to it. Can you maybe suggest a tutorial site. Because i downloaded a lot of books etc but they only give training on building etc.
Thanx again.

for #3, I would do walls instead of in place component. Set the base offset to the bottom elevation of the bulk head. The bulk heads are actaully going to be a wall like structure if done like typical construction. You can then use edit profile to cut the curve. Use a normal ceiling to close the gap at the bottom of the 2 walls (one for each side depending on how the bulk head is situated in the space.
You'll find that there are many different ways to do the same thing, it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with the model and how much time you have to do it. This is just how I model my nulk heads

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |
