I am trying to find the smoothest way to attach an existing wall to a new roof raised above a demolished roof. So that the same wall will have elements of exisiting and new construction in it. (I'm using Revit Architecture 2011)
When you do this normally in Revit, when viewing the 'new constuction' phase, it shows the existing wall only coming up to where the now demolished roof was.
I have tried making a new wall and then cutting it from the existing wall, however, when the existing wall is raked the cut runs horizontally and doesnt line up with the existing wall.
Is there any neater solution other than editing the profile of every new wall?
Image shows existing wall attached to demolished roof with new construction wall attached to new roof and cut from existing wall.

You will have to have one wall above the other and edit the bottom of the new wall.

The old wall will probably, become a new as the wall will need to be rebuilt in all likely hood. If this is a wood wall the studs will not stretch, if masonry the reinforcing in the wall will likely not be enough. One needs to consider the structural ramifications of the design.
