hello
i would like to render a floor plan but i can't seem to figure out how to have it include the ceiling without seeing the ceiling. i made the ceiling and then hid it in view but then it still renders as if there is nothing above. i have attached my image. i still need to add windows and the like but is there a way to do this? i made a section cut and then rotated it but i guess you can't render section cuts either.
thanks for the help

you can render sections, and perspective sections. About the floor plan .. well you can apply a semitranslucent material to the ceiling, but since you will be able to render sections, this kind of rendered view is fine.

Use 3Dview + Section Box then set camera in elevation position and by adjusting your section box depth, you can have your desire section and render. Remember you can render only when you are using 3Dview or camera

thanks for the help. i have now set up the section box correctly and am able to render. but i guess i'm still running into the same problem. i have only drawn walls so far--no windows. so some of the spaces should have no light whatsoever but it keeps rendering as if the ceiling doesn't exist and casting shadows off of the interior walls. i drew the ceiling and cut the section below the ceiling. does the render function just ignore what's above it then? i'm using revit architecture 2011 if it makes any difference.
