Every time I place a door in plan of the same size, opening and type, Revit gives it a new number making my door schedule long. Can it be done like windows, where all 4'x4' windows have the same number, thus reducing the length of the schedule.

Thanks for your help

Devon

No you can't do what you want but if you sort your schedule by door type, and don't show all instances, all oif these doors will be on one line where you can put the number in that you want.

Revit's scheduling is a great tool if you learn to use it.  The first thing to learn is to make as many schedules as you need!  You don't have to just make schedules to place on sheets.  Make working schedules and name them as such.

So ... duplicate your door schedule as a working schedule.  Modify this adding the door typw parameter and sort your schedule by this parameter.  Now if you don't show all instances, all the doors of the same type will be on a single line which allows you to set their number to all be the same.

Got it?  USE THIS TOOL FOR LOTS OF ITEMS!
