I'd like to import my revit images into photoshop to render, but I need to maintain the scale of the revit drawings. I usually just save the revit file as a pdf snd drag into photoshop, but I realize this is not to scale. I just need the revit Any advice appreciated.

I think if you just maintain your PDF creator DPI as same as your file in photoshop, then will have right scale.

My experience and I have only done a few of these. is that you must calculate the position the original photo is taken from and place the Revit camera in the same relative location. This will give you the same angles, more or less but the scale will not be the same, as the Revit camera is not going to match the lens of the camera you used to make the photo. You will then have to make adjustments as to the position of the building, and scale it if you have created the street work fairly well this is what I use to get the position of the Revit model in the correct place, and to help with scale. In my case the photos have been taken at street end views, for planning approvals. Then I have run leveling line by survey instrument to obtain the correct elevation.

Sorry, the simulated building is the cream colored building with the metal roof, near the center of the photo

This is an old thread, but I came across it and it did not seem to have a very helpful reply. In my experience there are two types of annoying phenomena that occurs when trying to open Revit generated images in Photoshop; the first is that regardless of your dpi/ resolution settings, if Revit becomes taxed memory-wise, it will export out at whatever resolution it wants, typically 72dpi for large sheets. The second problem is that Photoshop will typically resize the image to 96 dpi, regardless of the resolution it was generated at. Sometimes one can recaptured their scale by coverting the image to 72/96 - however, other times even this does not work. What I have found to be the quickest, most bullet-proof method is to leave your crop region window on when you export, and to rationalize the crop box to an easy to remember size. This will set the overall size of the image and in Phiotoshop one can then resize image to the original crop box dimension (typically only one dimension is needded) to get back to sheet scale.

When the RAM memory cant handle the image size , it makes ( automatic) what you said, fgiorland0.
When that happens, you have to put the image in a large sheet, and then print to pdf format, at the dpi you need.
The other option, is buy massive amounts of ram... like 14 gigs. The pdf is cheaper

In p-shop open keeping dpi "I like 300dpi"
Image size the wdith "E130x42" was XX" now 42" "Scaled 140%"
Reading all ur posts helped
