I've created a legend but, now want the linework and text from that legend to be an integral part of the sheet rather than a legend dragged on to the sheet. Reason - sheets with views cannot be copied from project to project and I need this particular sheet in three other projects. Can text and linework be copy/pasted from a legend into a sheet? If not, can a legend (w/ linework & text) be copied from one project to another? thx

You should be able to transfer legends using the load views tool.

Legend cannot be transferred thru "insert from view" however, they should be able to copy and paste from project to project (if they are both in legend view)

Insert from view doesn't work. Copy/paste partially works - data transfers but not in the same format.
