I've notied that my PDF's of drawings look very light gray. They look correct on-screen. If I activate a sheet view and select an object then right click on it to reveal the graphic configuration, it shows that the New Construction view for that and most objects is actually gray, not black. I can't find where to reset the color of New Construction Phase object's projection line view to black... inVG (View Graphics), it shows black lines. In the line styles they are all black. When "Printing" PDFs I notice a significant difference in graphic weights and colors between High and Presentation in the printing dialog box. The High setting produces very black lines and poched textures (too dark). The Presentation setting gives me the gray that is just too light and it's hard to ddifferentiate between new and existing (existing being gray). Insight and help would be greatly appreciated.

To reset the color of New Construction Phase object's projection line view to black: Click Manage tab, Phases, Graphic Overrides tab, click on Lines under Projection/Surface for New Construction and select Black for color (see image).

That's exactly the setting I have in the Phases tab... I'm still getting gray for the New Construction Phase in the published PDF. It's weird I know.... I have a new hard drive and reloaded everything from scratch a few months ago. It did this on my old system too. I have a 2nd computer, a Laptop and it will produce the same gray lines for new construction even though Phases is overridden with Black, 4.

Sorry I have not seen that problem before. What PDF software are you using? I assume that the drawings look fine when plotted at full size, is this correct?

I am printing from Revit Architecture 2011 latest service release to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 which is the latest release. Another twist; If I override the phase's graphic settings for "New Construction" then the new phase work prints black as expected.... but... then the material patterns for section cuts just disappears. If I set the phase graphics to "By Category" then the projection lines are gray but the material hatch patterns or all the layers in the cut materials show up again. My VAR Tech Support is completely stumped and so am I.

Yes, I am "Printing" to Adobe Acrobat PDF to an E-1 Sheet size. The other recent "challenge" is that printing to PDF of a 3D view with shadows, with a raster setting of "Presentation" all of a sudden taking 2-3 hours to print and it usually crashes. I can get it to print with a raster setting of "High".
