Hi all, I'm new to revit and this forum. First I'd like to say thanks to everyone for contributing to these forums, they have helped me so much in getting a project up and running in revit... I am trying to find a way to customize the stock view title so that instead of being view numbers (1/A101, 2/101,...) I want them to be based on a grid we have established around our border sheet (1A/A101, 4G/A101...kind of like the game Battleship) This has been our company standard in ADT and it would be nice to be able to continue this in Revit. Thanks in advance.

Lunchtrayrider, thanks for your reply. I have tried changing the numbers manually and it works as it should. I guess what I'm looking for is some kind of automated way that the detail numbers will update themselves basd on their position on the sheet. The issue I'm having is as the project moves forward and we add/subtract/arrange/rearrange the details I have to update them manually before we plot. It would be great if these numbers could update themselves based on our grid system as we add them and move them around the sheet.

If you name them by the area of the sheet they are located you would only have to change the numbers when you move them :-) As far as I know there is no way to do what your asking. I also go through and update the numbers right before plotting. (at least you don't have to update the tags in all of the views)

They will number sequentially so if you do the first one at 1A, the second one will be 1B.... not what you want so it looks like you place on the sheet and change the number ..... just like you did in CAD. No disadvantage, just not completely automatic. However, the callouts will all still be numbered correctly everywhere they are shown so still an advantage over CAD.
