I'm trying to insert  wall opening from floor height to 8'-0", but the opening keeps attaching itself to the roof level and even if I go into properties and select "unconnected" it still won't budge.  Is there another way to edit the height that I am not aware of?

Any advice is much appreciated.  Thanks!

it shouldn't matter what the connected height is, can't you just drag the opening to the size you want using the grip points?

Why don't you just "edit" that wall and create the opening like you want?

It won't let me drag from the top, that's what is weird.  It's like it has a top constraint that I didn't give it.

It's true I can edit the profile, but it makes it a little harder to edit later if we need to tweak things.

Thanks for the responses...

Have you tried to create a Generic void opening family that does the same job that you asked?

It might be helpful since it is not a system family or any sort.

If you make it parametic, then you can pull/push the shape handle  to make any adjustment
