I have some families (work tables, for instance) with MEP parameters in them, but I don't always need them filled out. The problem is, in my utility schedule I end up with 0V or 0'-0". I'd like to be able to tell the schedule not to show any 0s. Is there any way to do this? I'd like to avoid creating multiple families that are identical with the exception of the parameters included.

If you don't want the items in this schedule then filter them out.  We have added a shared parameter to all categories which is X Do Not Scedule.  You can use this in any schedule to broadscope filter out elements.

If you still want this element in this schedule but without this field, you will have problems.

I need the item in the schedule, and the parameter in the family, but I don't want 0s to show up. I'm 99.9% sure that I can't have my cake and eat it too, but it never hurts to ask.

I have found that with some parameters like this, that if I don't put any value into the field, and if there is no value for the parameter in the family, then that no value is shown in the schedule.  But once you put 0 in, you can't get rid of it.

The parameters require a value, even if it's 0. It was great when I was using text parameters, but we've changed our parameters so they can be used with Revit's MEP parameters.
