Hi, I created a family for the beams that I'm using (generic family template), and have a shared parameter for Length. I didn't use the structural framing template because it is too smart for what I need to do and that actually makes it inflexible (I tried it). I also have some beams that are the standard families that come with Revit. My problem is that when I schedule all the beams together I have two different "Length" fields (the one that comes with Revit and the one I created). If I use a line based generic family for my beam, the Length appears as one field (good) but I don't want to use line based because then the beams snap together when they're very close. Help please? Where are the Shared parameters .txt files that come with Revit usually located?
