I wanted to see how others are using the matchline and view reference tools. I have attached a image of how our firm has done matchlines ever since hand drawings. Now that we are fully revit I would like to use the program how it was intended so that I may learn the "revit way" and customize that... Currently the view reference annotation directs you to the detail number and sheet number. How would you show this graphically in plan where the matchline exists? I have a part "A" and a part "B" floor plan and currently we show it how the image I have attached shows it. Referring to the attached image, we show where part "A" and part "B" floor plans start so it's easily understood. I can't put the "primary" view on a sheet because it is too big and that is why I am splitting up the floor plan in the first place. To get around this I created an indepedent view of the floor plan so I could reduce the scale of the over floor plan to fit on the sheet. This works, but you can not put a view reference annotation on that independent plan. Could someone please let me know how you are displaying reference views with a matchline the revit way? Thanks!!

I set up my matchline so that if you were in Part A/Sheet # , it referred to Part B/Sheet # and visa versa..... all automatic reference.

After your comment WWHub I thought of it some more. I ended up just modifying the exist. family to look like our standards. In the family Part "A" and Part "B" are just static text and never change. This is because I don't see our firm ever veering away from this terminology that seperates the two partial plans. The "see A12" is the sheet number. I had to create two families : one for the sheet number to be on the right side and one that had the sheet number on the left. So when your on part "a" you can have the sheet number under part "b" and vice versa. Seems to work...
