Hi Guys! We finished our model split on Friday. We found on Monday morning that we had views deleted that where no where near the area of split. These include plans and 3D Views. I thought I may have lost only detail views or callout views. I didnt realise the 3D views and other plans would be deleted. Any ideas why this is happening??? Any help appreciated! Michael

Revit does not erase (delete) views without a direct interference of the user

As you can see from the link below, we cut, divided, serparated, partitioned the north pir from the main file using revit links. http://www.osl.no/osl/micro/T2 We solved it ourselves, the problem was that when we deleted views that were not relevant to that area in the pir file, it gave no warning that additional views (importnat ones) would be deleted also. Cheers, Michael P-S thanks for the ''constructive'' help typhoon

I actually just had this problem. I was editing a form in one elevation view. For some reason, when I finished my sketch, then clicked "finish family" it told me that another completely unrelated form needed to be edited, although my only option was to click "delete item". It was small enough that I just clicked "delete item" with plans to redo it, but then I suddenly was taken to a different elevation view. Then, i discovered that not only were the forms deleted, the elevation that i was just in was deleted, in fact all but one of my 4 cardinal elevations were deleted, AND MY FLOOR PLAN was somehow deleted. And, I can't undo. I had to close the project and open up an older saved version. So, it seems that Revit does spontaneously delete views. Very very very weird. I've worked in revit for 4 years and I've never had it do this.
