Hello,
I made a new baluster panel family. So far it is parametric and flexes. When I try to use a void to delete the unseen verticals, say on a stair when its angled. It errors when I load into project.
Any suggestions. I am so close, I can feel it.
Thanks.

It appears you are going through a lot of work to create a panel family, Did you try and set up your railing using the railing tools to create your railings. If you go to railing properties and use edit to create your own style, the balasters will automaticall connect to whatever rail you assign them to. You can create a separate style for your stair rail and horizontal guardrail.
The railing tool will automatically follow your stair pitch when the stairs are hosting the railing.

Yes this is true.
The issue is in the baluster panel family I am using. Rails follow the slope, but the baluster has a built in parameter.
If your interested in this topic, open the imperial family baluster panel to see how its set up.
I have figured the void problem out... the void need to be locked on all sides to be valid when put into family.
But I am still messing w/ the corner post option.
Thanks

Ahh - I see say's the blind man! I haven't yet dabbled with the panelized balusters. In checking into it breifly and setting up a [panel -ballister post] pattern, there is definatly a learning curve involved - so what else is new!!! Not sure if you are asking a question about the corner post option or just making a statement.

I have been di**ing w/ this thing for a few days, and I have yet to get it to flex completely right. I even tried using a solid void w/ a hatch defining the surface pattern, but then you cant see through to behind.
Arrrghh! I am so close though.
I keep battling it, while I have the time. I just dont want to draft in detail lines on every view.

Sorry to hear this is giving you trouble, could you post a shot of the panel installed in the railing that might show the issue. I'm not at all clear on just what you're trying to do and the related problems. By flexing you must be talking about creating different family type sizes. Is the issue in creating family types or is it with the panel once installed in the railing? If it's just with family types why don't you attach it so we can have a look and gain some understanding of the issue.

Hi,
Yeah It is an issue w/ the baluster panel when It is loaded into a project. It does not adjust correctly.
I realized that bluasters nad railings have a long way to come in Revit, because even the imperial library's default baluster panel, behaves wrong. I just gave up on it. I made the railing as best I could, w/o a panel, and then created a component generic model that I inserted into the railing manually.
Thanks.
