I have created a Family that is essentially a block with a few 'tabs' on the top and a void on the side. I would like to create these tabs/void as a parameter that I could turn ON/OFF on a block-by-block basis once they are inserted into the model. Besides VG, is there a way for me to create a new Category, give each tab/void a name, and the ON/OFF option? Or do I just have to build a custom block for each possible tab/void variation and insert them that way. I also need to be able to create a schedule for the quantities of each of these blocks. Thanks.

Create Yes/No parameters and associate them to the tabs. Create the different types in the family editor. Then create a text parameter called Block Type or something to control the Yes/No parameters. With the text parameters and the different types setup, when a particulr Block is loaded, it will automatically turn on and off the tabs.
