I'm rather new to Revit. I have a problem with the default elevation tags, the square ones with the tags on the outside. I have been trying to create a new elevation tag family that resembles our standard elevation tag, circle with a line thru the middle, number on top and bottom, and an arrow. Sometimes it loads into a project just fine, other times not. Right now it's kind of a disfunctional family. I would like to make this the default tag that loads with the template model.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how the heck did you solve it???

Thanks

Did you start by modifying one of the ootb elevation tags? If not, I would start there, just modify what you need. There are two parts to the elevation tag family, the circle or main body portion and the arrow and labels. The arrow and labels are nested into the main body portion.

If I were in the office I would upload the tags I have modified.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the tip. Actually, I somehow managed to get one to work, and in the process created a new template for Revit to use when creating a new model. I still have difficulty loading the new elev. tag into existing models.

I used the AutoDesk user assistance to create my elevation tag and that instructed me to put the labels on the body of the elev tag, not the pointer. I'd be curious to see yours.

I've attached a picture of what my tag looks like.

Thanks again.....
