Assuming you are not expecting the dimensions to automatically show as rooms are hardly ever rectangular, You can easily add a label to a room tag family and assign it the Comment parameter or create a new one that you can fill in per room tag property in the project and include it in your schedule.

It sure would be nice to have that come up automatically. Currenty you can only add your own typing of dimensions or have the full perimeter amount show. It is silly! ![Smile](/images/smiles/smile.gif)

Not all rooms are square or retangular and contain only 4 walls. It is a ridiculous request to claim that Revit should be able to do this. Name me one other program on the planet that can give you a widthXlength in a room with 15 sides and curves. If you can figure out how to make this happen I would suggest that you take you advanced knowledge of C++ and move to Waltham and work for Revit or better yet write your own program that one ups Revit.

Assuming you have a room with lets say an L shape, there would need to be a control to pick which wall you want the dim to. It would be a real nice feature if a family parameter could associate with a model dimension, In this case a dimension that could be hidden.
