I'm having a hard time convincing co-workers of Revit's ability to create complex drawings. I'm not even talking about complex geometry. For instance, on some projects we have intricate wood or plaster moldings. Of course we wouldn't model the intricate curves. What I would propose in such an example would be to model the profile but leave the complexity to detail lines or detail components. This is just one example but I thought this would be a great place to get some pictures of your complex drawings. Any samples out there?

Please clarify your question. If you can draw it in CAD, you can draw it in Revit.... For anything greater than 1/256" in size.... Should you model a complex molding? If you are not using 3D views then no. Look in the gallery.

After looking at FFKR Architects portfolio I see nothing in your projects that can't be easily documented in Revit in 3D or 2D. Take a look at this http://clubrevit.com/?p=833#more-833

Great tutorials, I had never heard of that website before. I'm looking for non-perspective views however (section, elevation, etc.). I'm trying to explain to them that what you do in CAD can be done in Revit. We've had headaches on past project coordinating between Revit and CAD sheets. The attached image shows a sample of one of our door casing details. It's a photocopy so it's a little blurry. I would only model the profile and then draw the intricate patterns on the elevation. Great website though. Any more examples?

hmm you could draft it all out as model lines or detail lines specific to the elevations. or maybe link the cad files to the face of the trim. or even just insert images of the linework onto the face. I havint seen any tutorials of this stuff, maybe someone else has? Tomorrow I can email you an example file that has all 4 ideas in one if you'd like, it wont ben anything elaborate but you'll get the idea.
