I am working on a casework family and I am looking for some tips to streamline it's regen time when switching between handle types.  It is a fairly complex family and I am afraid I might have tried to get too fancy.  My family consists of the carcase and nested families for the different face configurations which are controlled by a Family Type parameter.  Each face configuration has options for two different types of handles in either a vertical or horizontal orientation.  The different handles are controlled by turning their visibilty on or off with Yes/No parameters in the main family.  The regen time when switching between types using the Family Type parameter is not an issue, where I run into snags is when I switch between handle type or orientation and then it takes up to 30 seconds to regen.  I originally wanted to use a Family Type parameter to control which handle is displayed, but the handles are nested into the face families and I can't control them from the main family.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I would attach the family but it is too large, if you are interested in helping let me know and we can make arrangements to get you the family.

Do you need to have nested families for all the items? Could you not create sweeps/extrusions for the handles within the carcass family still controlled by the Y/N parameter?

I tried doing nested families ages ago for windows but the file just got too unwieldy so went back to making individual units.
