Is there a way to audit the revit file and list which keynotes are being used on my project? I know I could just print the .txt file, but that would include notes not placed in the file. I'd also like to know if its possible for revit to create a report, of which views, or even sheets, a particular keynote is used. thank you

Look at using a keynote legend for this. It should show you the keynotes used in the project but no way to see what sheets they are on except by filtering by sheet and placing a legend on the sheet.
