I am trying to draw up an existing building in revit. The walls are moving to create their own joins and not what I want. I have tried edit wall joins and aligning, locking, pinning, but the walls move on their own for what REVIT decides should be the join solution, not at all what I want. This is creating havoc on my ability to get enclosed spaces. I am VERY frustrated. Does anyone have a work around besides throwing the computer out the window?
I would upload the drawing but it's too large.

Have you tried "disallow join"? Pull the wall end away from the connection, click on the free end with the wall join tool, and then slect disallow join from the options bar. Now pull/align the wall end with the adjacent wall.
does that help?

We are using Revit Structure 4 and have been having problems with the Wall Joins. We can use the Edit Wall Joins tool and change them to Mitre but is there anyway to set this as a default?

I would happen to agree it is a very frustrating tool...I am also finding that it is not consistent

If you select the wall in question- then right click on the blue grip dot- the floating sub-menu should offer you the option to "Disallow Join". This may make it behave in a more appropriate way

Yes, a lot of the control of wall joins that is present in Architectural Desktop- has been taken away from the user. Best bet is to use a masking region and just draw the join as you want it! Regards, Ian

99% of the time, I think the wall joins work just fine. When they don't, you can sometimes find a better join by togelling through the join options. There are some complicated areas where you may have 3 different walls coming together or one wall that is just too short in length for REVIT. When that happens, just do like what was suggested and disallow the joins.

"99% of the time" yes that's true, but your boss only sees the 1% and that's the problem
