Hello Everyone, I have a dilemma, I'm doing a study comparing Navisworks and Projectwise to manage, view and interoperate Revit Architecture,MEP and Structural. Here's the story. Currently, we are running on the old Projectwise (6 years old) with our AutoCAD file management. Everything is running smoothly, just noticed that everytime you open a file, you need to login, go to the folder where the file is at, open it as "read only", save it in your system, do your editing, and save it back to Projectwise. Now, I did my research on Navisworks and since Revit and Navisworks both come from Autodesk, and Projectwise from Bentley, I believe that Navisworks and Revit work hand in hand better than Projectwise. I am currently doing research on Projectwise, still not satisfied with it. Please help me with regards to this...working in Riyadh,KSA, sometimes you need animation and videos to persuade the major stakeholders. Any comments or suggestions will be of great help! Best Regards, Dindo

I don't know anything about Navisworks or projectwise. We use Revit Architecture and most of our current consultants use Revit Structure and Revit MEP although some still use AutoCAD MEP. I hear that Navisworks does a better job at class detection but Revit also provides class detection and we use that some. We have found that because we link in all the models, including 3D CAD models, we can manage most of our project visually. We do this by using the 3D scope box to constantly manipulate our model reviewing how everthing works together. We farm out our animations and top end renderings. We just don't do enough of these in our office of 40-50 to justify providing this in-house.

Hi Dindo, Sounds Pinoy?! anyway, as an experienced Naviswork user, I can say that it is preferred application that the Projectwise...Why I said this? It's because of the precision of how it detect clashes, identify the clashing elements, get its element id's and do the modification back to CAD or revit. Hope it encourage you. Regards jaypro

hi dindo, I have a typo error on my previous reply..What i mean is that I prefer Navisworks THAN projectwise. There is a naviswork simulate that you can also download for your project simulation. I'm here in Makati..we have clients in australia and france..we're using MEP, Arch and STr...i'm the leadman/bim coordinator here. Happy reviting.. regards. san k s pinas dati nakatira? jaypro
