One of our computers was attacked by the virus someone hosted on this site.  We got everything back up and running but now Revit 2011 is locking up every time we run it.  It actually starts just fine but then as soon as we go to open a file it freezes up.  Is anyone else having any issues like that.  We have checked the graphics card driver and installed the one that works best.  We have also reinstalled Revit to no effect.

Please help if you can.

AAron

Wow, was it imbedded in a family download?

Not a result of the virus attack here.  You need to delete a file in your program area called:

C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010\ENU\Components\WebServices\WSCommCntrData.xml

WWHub you are awesome.  quick question though I actually did it to the 2011 file also.  Will that cause any issues?  I can always reload it if needed.  It seems to have worked, thank you,

This file somehow occassionaly gets corrupted but Revit will rebuild it if it is missing.

Thanks WWhub.  I there a discussion about this anywhere, maybe on another forum?  Is there something I could look at regarding it to help my understand it more?

Thank you,

AAron

I found the same problem aaron, about a year ago made me crazy, autodesk was not helpful. they had me redoing all manner of things to my computer. finally I found some small notice about the problem, I can not remember where now. but it worked for me. as well no ill effects. I had a running dialogue with autodesk at the time.

Brandon,

See the home page notices about the virus attack someone did to the site and its users.
