Has anyone broken a large building from 1/32" plan into 1/8" quadrants on plot sheets? We have tried callouts, and this appears to work. Is there a better way? or some tricks?

Using the crop region option in the view properties can aid you in splitting a very large plan into (2) or more separate plans. From you tab menu select LINES and draw your match line at the point were you want the plan to be split. In the view properties select CROP REGION and adjust the crop region so that touches the match line and cuts off the portion you don't want to see. Scale of this view will 1/32"= 1'-0". Duplicate this view and call it Floor Plan 2. In this you view you would need to follow the same procedures as you did in Floor Plan 1 but adjust the crop region so that it only shows the other side of the build. The scale of this view will be 1/8"=1'-0".

Crop regions had problems with the "viewports" not staying put on the plot sheets. We have had better success with callouts and Matchlines drawn with the drafting tool. We are working on two projects, my arena project which is broken into 6 - 1/8" quadrants, and a MLS soccer stadium which is broken into 8-10 quads as well. We feel that we are pushing the limitations of Revit, and keeping in close contace with Autodesk.

Crop regions would be the best way in my opinion to split up the plan. Try duplicating the plan then changing the scale to 1/8". Turn the crop region on and square off your first section. Then, duplicate that plan and move the crop region to the second section. Repeat this step until you have all your sections. Now you can place your sections on sheets as you see fit. Hope this helps! -Hiroshi-
