Ok, so I'm working with some perimeter stacked walls in my project. The base wall sits atop a grade beam and slab. The structure sits atop the slab, while the masonry sits atop the grade beam (which is about 8" below finish floor). The issue is, whenever both walls at a corner condition have a base extension distance less than zero, the walls will not join correctly, even if they are the same (-8". The end of one wall is therefore exposed to the outside. Using the wall join tool only shifts which wall end is exposed to the outside. Here's the real kicker... on every computer but my own, it's acting like everything is fine. What's more, I just got a new computer, and on the old computer it was doing the exact same thing. I just did a fresh install of Revit 2011!!! What the heck?

Stacked walls sometimes have wll join problems - especially if any walls have a sketched profile. I like stacked walls to start a project but after intial placement, they are no longer required so I usually right-click on them and select break-up. Then the issues go away.

Ok, I've determined the issue. It had to do with my view depth. I had my view depth set to "Level Below" where the others had their view depth set to "Associated Level" with 0 offset.

One year later and this issue still exists. The issue is not related to stacked walls. Even when the view depth is at associated level, if there's an offset below, the walls will not appear to join properly. Mitering seems to be the only way to fix it, but that only works for walls of the same type.

Still dealing with this issue years after this post. I can confirm it's just a view range thing in every instance I've had the problem. Thanks for psoting the solution!

This issue has in fact not been resolved, as AutoDesk is still search for a cause and solution.
