Hello, I am working on a campus development plan. I am using a 3d top view to show the entire campus existing buildings, drives and parking layouts as well as our new modeled building. This is at a 1"=50' scale everything shows up great in realistic view without having to render showing the necessary shadows and colors of the existing and new modeled buildings. That is after I modeled the roofs on the existing buildings the mass objects, I wanted to use for the existing would not show a shadow unless you clicked on the mass then they would shadow, but when you unclicked they would not show or print shadows might be a bug. I used a civil.dwg 2d for the existing layout as an underlay, this shows up in realistic view but not if you render. The main problem are the trees in realistic view, what is the best way to get a top view of a reasonable outline of a tree with a shadow? I have great looking shadows but no tree with the stock tree elements. All suggestions and help will be appreciated. James

It is now 2013 and I still wish that RPC trees look more rendered in the realistic plan view... just like in elevations, is there a setting I need to tweak? The trees on my site plan are just 2D blocks.
