Greetings ... I am adding symbolic lines to my doors to represent the accessibility clearance requirements. In plan this works just fine. But in elevation, I have a problem. In the door family, I am drawing a single vertical line to show the 600 clearance on the pull-side. On the Push-side I draw a single vertical line to show the 300 clearance. But both are visible in my interior elevations ... this is a problem! The only way I can find to control the visibility of the unwanted symbolic line is to set it to "show only of Instance is cut". This creates another problem because I need for the 300 line to show on the push-side elevetions and the 600 line to show in the pull-side elevations. Am I missing some simple step?

The symbolic lines must be placed on the right workplane. - Create a new Ref. Plane on both the push and pull side of the wall
- Align and Lock those Ref. Planes to the wall faces
- Name the Ref. Planes "push" and "pull" (Or whatever you prefer)
- Go to the elevation views, and create the symbolic lines on the new Workplanes (Ref. Planes)
PS: Also make sure your project views are not set to "Wireframe"

Why don't you crteate a new sub-category under doors called ADA Clearance and use symbollic lines in that category? You can then turn those on/off at will in VG.

KMunkholm Thank you for this suggestion. That makes senst. I will give it a try the next time I'm back in that area of the model. WW: I have already created a "Clearance" sub category but it didn't allow for separate control of the push and pull side clearance lines. I suppose additional sub categories might achieve this but I think that the work plane approach will be a more natural and automatic path to follow ... unless it doesn't work :o) But thanks for both suggestions. I don't think the work plane process will work with symbolic lines. I could be wrong and they might behave differently in door families (something I don't work with much at all), but I'm pretty sure a symbolic line is going to show up on both sides of the door no matter what WP it was drawn on. However, if you use model lines, it should work. If that's the route you go with, I would set the visibilty settings so the lines don't show up in plan or left/right views.
