I am creating a new mullion profile, i have also included in the profile file a detail group to be visible when the Visibility Setting is at "fine". I changed the Visibility Settings for the profile lines to be showing up only on "coarse". But when i change the setting to "fine" the profile still shows up. Is there any way to make the profile hidden when on the visibility is on "fine"? thanks //tj

Hi!
Seven years later, but this may be still a question for someone...
I don't know how to set different profile type for each level of detail, but you can still use Detail Elements to show whatever you need, in whatever detail you want, including a big rectangle to hide everything under it set in Coarse and a detailed profile in Fine...
Hope it helps!

Dear WWHub,
thanks for this link, it explains profiles as whole, but appies to mullion profiles only partially...
when trying to load the profile family with multiple loops, Revit doesn't accept these... you can change only the detail element by level of detail, but not the loop itself... and I don't know how to hide the loop in plan for other detail levels.

Not sure what you mean by loop but if you mean the mullion sketch, yes, Revit only allows one closed sketch. Mullions are not fully modeled with interior voids, etc. They are only an exterior, profile shape. To model interior edges/faces would really tax the program.
This has been the standard of practice for showing these in all views except detail, that is when you would turn off the mullion and use a detail element.
I personally dislike embedded detail elements. They can only be modified through the family editor.
