If you look at 3d view - From Parking Area, you will notice that the sky is colored or gradient. My question is how do I get the sky to show like when without this being rendered. How did they accomplish this sky in a shaded view without it being a rendering?

in the properties bar of a 3d view, click on "graphic display options" and at the bottom of that window you can check the box called Gradient Background" and pick your colors for below and above the horizon.
