I am trying to create a single column tag file that will show the tag at 45 degrees either right-up, right-down, left-up, or left-down. Right now we have each of those as their own family and it seems to be more of a hassle. I want to set them up as "instance" perameters rather then "type" so I can change the orientation if necessary to a specific column tag. I believe I have everything that I need set up properly but when I load it into my project and I go to my properties box, I don't see my list of perameters for turning stuff on and off. If I change my perameters to "type" I can go into my type properties and see them there but for some reason I'm not seeing them as and "instance" property. Or maybe this isn't possible for tagging thing, I don't know. So if someone could help me out and point me in the right direction that would be wonderful. Thanks.

Type tags are easy to use. I suggest you tag all of your columns. Then en-mass, select each one that you want to flip and switch them to the other type all together.
