if create a seperate floor for different rooms in my house how can i change the color of the same type of floor?

like i have my kitchen floor type a cermatic tile and i created a seperate floor for my bathrooms with the same floor type but when i change the color of my kitchen floor it changes the color for everything that has that same type of floor down. ive tried to duplicate the floor type so it wont be the same but it still changes everything is there any way to get different colors for the same type of floor?

i have the floor i want to change highlighted.

this is for revit 2011

Material is a type property.  Green tile is different than red tile, and so just like you need a different type for a tile versus a carpet floor you need to do the same for differences in tile.

Second you say that you are duplicating the floor type, which is what I said above. But you also need to duplicate the material...your two families still share a floor material "Tile" so you change "Tile" to red they both change...you will need to duplicate your matieral so you have a "Red Tile" and a "Green Tile"
