I'm working through Mastering Autodesk Revit Architecture 2011. The current objective (project organization-page 29) requires me to cut a series of spiral walls with a revolved component. I cannot get the cut tool to select the component. What am I doing wrong?

Just click on "Cut Geometry" tool and select the void and a wall then repeat until you cut all walls then you can finish the family.

If i leave the model unfinished i can select the void with the cut tool but not the wall afterward. If i complete the model it wont let me select the void at all with the cut tool. Did I maybe make the void wrong?

After you cut the first wall use the "TAB" key to select again the VOID then select other wall... tab, tab, tab...

Thanks for your help. I had the type set to solid rather than void and am still getting used to changing attributes with the new side menu. A second look at the your first illustration and it clicked.
