Hello Revit People Smile

I want to know if there is a way you can present revit to a client on screen. how can you disable the blue falshing lighting when you touch on elements? if there a program to help do that? i have tried to turn off the lighting but couldn't, i am left with using sketchup to present which is a program that i really hate

thanks!

You mean the highlight? You may be able to change it to a less annoying color in Options, but I don't know how to shut it off (I really doubt that you can).

Something else to look at if all you need is to present your model is exporting to a DWF and using Design Review (free DWF program from Autodesk).

You can export revit models to Dwf. Then tell your client to dowload the (free) dwf viewer.

Play a while with it, its very related to BIM.  Btw, you can present 2d views aswell.

DWF works, but I tend to lean towards using Navisworks instead.  And since one of the versions of Navis is free (a viewer) it works just as well!

For the first time, we've presented revit models/walkthroughs as a streaming screen capture accompanied by a teleconference to clients a thousand miles away.  "Gotomeeting" or some service like that.   That way, they didn't have to make any large downloads, and we were able to direct the movement from our end.  It was a big success.  Nothing impresses clients more than being able to fly around the interiors at a conceptual stage.

Thanks everyone,

those were all helpful replies and work to a degree. However i tried everything and still won't work the way i wanted it. what i wanted to do is present my work on my laptop connected to a projector, if only i could zoom orbit and pan without the blue highlights flashing. one thing i was able to do though was create mass in place and present while that mode is running that turned all edges white and the highlights stop flashing, however that still takes away from the design intent. i wish Autodesk can develop a presentation mode where you can navigate regular with just the highlights off

thanks again everyone
