When I go to add a shared parameter it allows me to select the shared parameter from the typical shared parameter file then in the "Parameter Properties" box there is a "Group parameter under:" that I am able to select...is there a way to add to that list?

When you create a parameter, you can create a group. Manage / edit shared parameters / groups / new....

Right, but what I am trying to do is change the group in which the parameter is listed under in the properties box. I can make multiple groups for my shared parameters but when it comes time to associate them with an item I would like to customize the headings in the properties box which comes from "Group parameter under" I made a new Shared Parameter group but I am not seeing the connection to the "Group parameter under" in the Parameter Properties

Now you are asking a different question. You can not re-assign a parameter to a different group in the shared parameter file. As in everything Revit, you need to think ahead. If you want these parameters grouped differently, they have to be created that way and assigned accordingly in the families. In the family, both shared and non shared parameters can be grouped wherever you want and you can re-assign those. Just click on the parameter and pick modify then change the group.

Let me try again...and thank you so far for your assistance. My process of making a new shared parameter is this--- - Shared Parameters
- Make new Group (Rebar) or Select Existing group to add the shared parameter under
- Make the new Shared Parameter "Slab) Slab Face"
Adding this new shared parameter to project - Project Parameter
- Add
- Check Shared Parameter and Select the parameter I just made
- Revit Automaticlly fills in "Name", "Discipline", and "Type of Paramater" for Shared Parameters
- I select the categorie(s) I want this parameter to go under
- But now I have a pull down called "Group Parameter Under:" (unrelated to the "Group" that the shared pararameter is under in Shared Parameters) that puts the parameter under this heading in the Parameter Box of the element when working...I would like to add a new field to this called "Slab" or "F&F" or "Beam" etc is this possible to do and how can I do it?

Great question... I’m in the process of creating our office schedules and would also like to arrange the order of labels in the prosperities box. Does anyone know how to do this?

Parameters are ordered by creation in the family and alphabetically listed in the project.

I know this is a super old post but I thought I would post the work around in case anyone else is looking for it. You can do this through scheduling. Schedule the item and go to" fields". Find the parameter you want to change in either "available" or "scheduled" fields and click "edit". Change the Group parameter in the "parameter data" box and put a check in "add to all elements in the selected categories" and then put a check in the "category" area next to the items the shared parameter affects, hit ok to close the edit box and ok to the schedule properties. Check your family, it should now show the parameter in the grouping you moved it to. You can delete the schedule you just created after without affecting the grouping.
