I cant find the assignable shortcut to rotate my 3D view. Im so used to doing this in 3ds max. I hate having to use the viewcube to rotate my view.

What???? I just hold down the shift key and middle mouse button and I rotate the view by sliding the mouse. If you click on an alement first, that will be the center of your rotation.

Shift + Middle mouse button. It works on autocad, 3dmax too. You can use the cube when you have isolated elements, and you want to zoom in to it (select the element, then click on any view of the cube)
