I am a relatively new user to Revit 2011 Architecture.  I am inserting components into floor plans in my model.  The components are visible on the third floor plan, however when I try to insert the same component into the first floor plan it does not show up.  If I move it outside the building onto the topography, it is visible.  However, when I move it back into the building it becomes invisible again.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might happen?

Thanks!

Also, I am having the same trouble with walls.  The walls are visible on the first floor.  I have the base set at the first floor, and the top set at the 8th floor.  I can see the walls on some floors but not all of them.  I'm not sure what visibility settings would be causing this.

To answer your first question, the item you are placing is being hidden by something else.  That is why it will show up outside the building but not in it.  Check your view properties.

For your second question, the problems is probably view graphics.  Create a template from the view that shows the walls correctly and apply that to the view that does not.

If that works, you know the problem was VG settings.  If I were you, I would then try to figure out what was different.  You can do that by undoing the applied template and then compare what is different in the VG settings of these two views.  Learn how this works now and you will reap many rewards.
