Shading is not line based so how can you expect to do vector plotting.

when you export from auto cad as a pdf, everything stays vector based, and the solids become editable filled regions. so when you open the pfd in illustrator, you can then select the fill and edit it however you want.

I'm currently using 2012, and now that 2013 is out, has anyone figured out if you can at least use "consistant colors" (no shading, but with colors) to print color vector? It doesn't seem to work in 2012.
