I found a thread by Mr Spot with a solution for above - "Create a new column which has a void built into the family to cut the top with an instance adjustable angle..." Mr Spot, can you please show us how? Thanks.

Here is the column... Just quickly edited the standard metric rectangular column. Created a reference plane above the top level and constrained it to the top level. Then unlocked the top of the column and re-aligned it to the new reference plane. Then created a reference line with an instance angle parameter as you'll see and constrained its origin to the intersection of the reference plane and level. Then created a void and constrained it to the reference planes and column... HTH.

Mr Spot, Thanks for your reply, I'll give it a go following your instructions. Unfortunately we havent got our 8.1 licence yet so can't look at your drawing but will do so as soon as. Yes it works very well as far as the angle goes, but how do I add a parameter to adjust the height? Post edited on 2005-10-27 01:47:44

Columns go from level to level and as such don't have a height parameter... simply change the top level of the top level offset in order to change its height...
