Hi. I'm doing residential design in college and I am aiming to get some more experiance in revit than most of guys in my class and do something more complicated than its required. And here comes my strugle with arched and sloped walls of any kind. Hours of trying to get basic idea how stuff works on my own since teacher can't help me and here comes my "kind of design"

Here comes my question. How can i divide surface on arched or sloped wall. Tools dont allow me to do that but from experiance with that arched and sloped wall which.. i could't get done and here i have done it I deduced there has to be a way. So here comes my plea for anyone to help  Smile... Id really apricate help if comes quite fast. I'm hoping to get most of it done for next week.

PS. Tips how to add window/door and not get a hole in  the wall apriciated however i will manage if not possible Smile.

Not sure what you mean by divide.  Why?  You need to explain what you want to do better.

You ask how to add a window without getting a hole in the wall?  Again - this doesn't make sense.  If you want something applied to the wall then that is not a window.

Sorry if i didn't explain enough. English is my second language and currently i'm using polish version of Revit so i might have "translated" divided badly however i thought it was same in english version. Anyway.. i give more pictures.

Dividing surface-  Well there is wall.. my sloped and curved wall - i want to make sections of different materials on the surface of wall.. same as shown on simple wall in picture.

Sloped walls and windows.. on picture i uploaded it's maybe not that visible but was on one i tried before.

Lets say i want to put glass (window) on wall...if question one is answered i wont have to put windows but id like to know anyway.

Wall is sloped and window doesn't follow slope of the wall.. and in end result window is vertical and my wall isn't. that makes holes in wall where wall doens't match window or other way round.. on picture it isn't so visible but made a paint representation what i mean.

So how to make window follow slope of wall if it's possible?.

if something is still not clear please ask to verify ... Smile

About the "Dividing surface" watch this: http://www.revitcity.com/forums.php?action=viewthread&thread_id=21081

About the windows and doors, you have several options but this you can do easily: first, in project you can create a "In-place Family" where you make the void to cut the wall then you create the extrusions/sweeps to create the windows/doors OR you can create a "Generic Model Face Based" family and create your windows or doors in there, this is what i recommend (the family).
