Hello.

I tried to search after similar post, but could't find any. If there is, please don't shoot me. Smile

I want to create new Structure Connections  Family. but I can't find any family template for that. Yea I know, I could take existing family and modify it, but I am wondering if there is a clean family template for Structure Connections.

Thanks,Martin

You can use one of the other templates (Generic Model, for instance) then in family categories and parameters change it to structural connection.

There is no option in Revit to save as a family template, but if you set up a family the way you want your template set up, you can then change the families file extension from .rfa to .rft and it will then be a family template.

HI, I realize this is an older post, but if you're still looking to add structural connections inside Revit, you can try SDS/2 Connect. It creates the families for you, helps you design the connection, apply the materials and backs the connection with code-based design checks.

See for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCBB2A3F56AECECEB&feature=plcp

If you're interested you can download a trial at http://sds2connect.com/trial
