I'm new to revit and I'm having trouble when a joist is sloped. The clouded joist in the attached pdf is not sloped and it appears with the correct line type that I assigned to it. If I slope the one end of the joist to 6-1/2" (which is what the joist needs to be sloped at) the line type of the joist changes to a large dashed line type as shown in the attachment. My cut line in the view range is 2' above the joists and the bottom of the view range is 4' below the bottom of the joist. Why is the line type changing when the joist is sloped?

Did you say the line-type was changing? That's usually a sign of a glitch in the matrix.
