I have been racking my brain trying to figure out what I am doing wrong with this and I need someone's help please!I have created a series of hollow metal door frames for a commercial project that I am working on. In addtion to that I have created a series of door panels that I am nesting into each door frame. I have set the visibility for (yes/no) on each door panel inserted into the various hollow metal door frames.I have setup a sample project and tested the family and the doors turn on an off as it should. I have also made sure that each door slab that I created has the shared parameter value checked. When I start adding doors it will skip door numbers. What it is doing is counting the frame as a door and the door type nested that is visible as a door type. So when I create my door schedule it schedules my door slab separate from my frame type. What in the heck am I doing wrong? Please help

Revit is reporting exactly what you are supplying I think. If your door leaf is a door and your door frame is a door...well - that's two doors. I personally don't like nested families in this instance but if the nested family is a different type, you can get this to work.

I agree with you 100% WWHub. I tried making the door slab just a generic model and then still sharing the custom parameters that I need. That works with the door numbering problem, but then I lose the custom parameters that I have assigned to the door slabs. Any suggestions on that? Thanks for the advice.

If you have the needed parameters in the host family, they can be linked to the nested. ie: Host param (Door Material) passed to hosted familf (Door Material)
