We've created a 10'x10'x100' truss / bridge structure based on grids and levels. This structure will house a conveyor that is at an 8 degree slope. We've also modeled the two structures (towers) to support this truss. How do we place this truss on the two towers (of different heights) to get the truss to be at the slope it needs to be? Family? Group? What's the proper way of doing this? Surely we don't have to model the truss at the slope to begin with... if so, whats the best method for doing it this way? Any Ideas?

if you have the datum at the top and bottom points of the slope, then you can create levels at the top and bottom points and use those levels to define top and bottom levels for the truss object. If you model the truss object as a structural beam/truss/complex object from the templates you will be able to use those top/bottom definitions to create the slope. HTH!

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |
