I have made a bunch of view templates that are supposed to apply to certain view types. The view types have been checked to apply when creating a new one of that type for all the view templates. I have created a project parameter that puts each view into a certain folder to organise the browser better. For example 01 Floor Plan <--- folder 02 RCP<----- folder When i make a new view its supposed to drop into one of these folders in my browser but certain views dont allocate properly. I have set each of their default view templates with the correct folder for drawing discipline. The main issue is when i make a building section it drops into 05 Building Section Folder BUT when i makea wall section its supposed to drop into 06 Wall Section but it doesnt instead it appears in the 05 Building Section folder. What am i missing here. Also when im creating a new view like a section how do i set the default values in the view properties box currently their is no instance properties available or types the properties box goes blank when i start to make a new veiw..

i realised because there is no option in the project parameters for a parameter "type" for views. There is no way to associate that parameter when i create a new view. So i guess im stuck with my views defaulting into a ??? folder upon creation. I just dont understand why we cant create parameter types for views.

When you create the view, the view properties are displayed and youcan assign the view template. You will still have to pick the view in the ??? column and "apply default view template".

Yeah i was just hoping i could have my instance parameter that allocates that view to a folder to actually work during creation of that view. I have a view template for every type of view in a project, wall section, detail etc... but the views upon creation default to floor plan, Building section etc. ive gone into views like wall section and applied the view template and checked the box to apply view template upon creation but it defaulkts back to building section template. It doesnt seem to adopt the view by type.
