I have items in a detail callout I wish to show as existing detail lines, and for consistency reasons would like these to be grey, as are other existing items in the view, but I cannot find any way to make detail lines grey. Any suggestions?

You do not say if these are truely lines or if they are model elements. For model elements, you can click on the element and pick over-ride graphics in view. You can set the color of the item's linework there / change its surface patterns / color. For different lines, you can create a new linestyle.

I would also add that you should look at how you can control VG through phases. Read your HELP :> Defining the Graphic Display for Phase Statuses

"I have items in a detail callout I wish to show as existing detail lines, and for consistency reasons would like these to be grey, as are other existing items in the view, but I cannot find any way to make detail lines grey." They are not Model lines. The display is set to show Existing phase as grey for this view through the VG settings, (I had already looked at the help file thank you) but these settings do not affect Detail lines as they do not appear to have a phase associated with them. Is there a way to change the properties of Detail lines?

Yes... you say detail lines but those may have been be detail elements and you also said "...I have items in a detail callout I wish to show as..." . Most posters are not clear because they lack the experience to know what to ask. As I wrote, you can "... For different lines, you can create a new linestyle."... and yes - you can create new linestyles that have a color. ... or why not just click on the line in the view - pick over-ride graphics in view and change the color / lineweight / or whatever your heart desires of those detail lines?
