This is a continuation of a previous thread I created some time ago. I am trying to create a parametric louver family where I can insert the louver and manipulate its size via grips (and have the blades change length and number depending on the louver size) rather than by creating different family types for each louver size. I have created a line based louver blade (with various parameters such as width, thickness and angle) and inserted it into a line based louver and array the blades, but I receive an error message saying I can't have an instance parameter in a type parameter when I write an formula for the blade spacing. Is it even possible to create a instance based louver family that can be changed by draging grip?

Yes its possible. You just can't drive a type parameter based on instance parameters. You can drive an instance parameter based on Type parameters, or instance to instance. As such, change your type parameter to instance.
