You may be having memory issues.  If your central file is OK, make a new local from it.  If it is not up to date and your file is better, and if nobody else is working in the prkject, use your local file to create a new central.

How big is your file?

Have you ever audited it?

Do you have lots of CAD linked in?

Are you saving with views tiled?

^  All of the above affect file size and memory problems.

There is service pack 2 available found here: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=14974020

Other than that, I think Hub has it right...typically when this problem arises it is a memory issue. If you post a journal file, we could easly tell you if that is the case.

Following Hub's suggestions will help along with:

Close hidden windows prior to saving

Saving in a simple drafting view, not a model view (Most firms have a "Save View" )

Close all worksets prior to saving, open what you need after a sucessful save

Save locally first, then sync to central with the local option unchecked

Purge unused items and unnecessary views

Review and address any and all warnings

Unload / Remove any links you no longer need
