My family file is too big for my computer. Every time i try to load it into my project it says that I don't got enough memory. Does anybody know how to make a family smaller in size?

Curtain wall? How big is the file? What version of Revit? Specs of your computer? You are in a project and not in a family template, right? you can "Purge" the file and save with other name, that will decrease the file size...

Whoa... Did you really model all of that pierced material? There are materials that do this a whole lot easier and will not overload your system.

to reduce size don't draw the fence like a fence but like a solid "sheet". Choose a material and use an image for the cutout as shown in the image

Typhoon: It's Kind of a fence I need to create. It's revit 2011. Computer specs: intel core 2 (2.13Ghz) 2GB ram, Nvidia Quadro FX 1500 256 and I'm in a family gerneric model template. Purge did help thanks, but now it is very slow in project though. WWhub: yeap it took quite a time :-/ I can't find the meterials for that pattern or else I don't know how... where can I find those meterial? Gebber: Thanks, it's something like that i need, but i can't figure out how to make the material and snap it to a fence

That's a lot to ask of that computer. You need to do a little research on opacity maps for materials. this will save you a ton of time, especially on that PC. Oh and think about at least upgrading your RAM to 4 gb

Like Gebber and WW told you, use materials (images) to do that, one to the "Bump" (generic) and the other to "Cutouts" (Alpha channel), check here: http://www.cgtextures.com/
