Surveyors provided me with this cad file of point / spot elevations in 3d. I importedCAD to Revit, and tried to make a toposurface. First off it says "In your currently active view, topographic elements are not visible. You can change the visibility settings from the View menu, but it is recommended that you edit topography in either a Site view or a 3D view, as undesired clipping can occur in other views."... but I am in a 3d view. I continue with Create from Import, Finish Surface and nothing happens. I also can't see the points in Revit that I see in Autocad, just the polyline.

Is Site/topography turned off in your 3D view? Seems that's the gist of the error. Survey data I've used flawlessly in the past were Plines, not points, so I wouldn't worry in that department.
