I have a curved roof which I made using the "Roof by Extrusion" method. I need to edit the shape of it, in plan view, not in the plane it was drawn in. I have done this previously in older versions but since loading Revit 2011 I cannot for the life of me find where to perform the same task. Or am I just going mad??

You create that "Roof by Extrusion" in a Elevation/Section view and not in a plan view, right? So you can only edit/manipulate that shape (roof) in a perpendicular view or in a 3D view, you can create a section view and set the work plane to that SV.

It's possible to edit sketches in a view non-perpendicular view. When you click to edit the sketch it will tell you it needs a perpendicular view (and give you a list of views), but once you are in sketch mode you are free to go back to whatever view you want.

It uses the opening tool to do this. Select the Roof by extrusion you created in plan and then choose edit plan cut.

Thanks for the help guys. The edit plan cut function is the one I cannot find. I click on the roof and edit, which then asks me to pick a view, okay, I understand this. However, I used to be able to find the edit plan cut, which I can't in the latest version. I know someone is going to show me where it is and it will be right under my nose. Help.

Hey guys got it..............& as u said it was reallyunder the nose
When wall s edited we have an option of "Edit Profile"........similarly in Editing Roof there is an optio called as " Vertical Opening"
so First create the profile of extrusion in Elevation/Section ........Then click the roof & use The option of Vertical opening
in This edit the roof in the plan view & Vola We have the desired shape of roof in extrusion
